Julian Nally grew bromeliads on the property that had once belonged to Henry Nehrling at Gotha, Florida. This collection mostly contains photographs of Nally's plants and family, but it also holds one letter to Nally from the Department of Agriculture.

Julian Nally was born in 1903; his father was Edward Julian Nally who became the president of RCA. Julian graduated from Princeton University and in 1932, he purchased the former Nehrling property known as Palm Cottage Gardens. There, he and his wife Margaret continued Nehrling's work growing bromeliads. He hybridized a bromeliad which he named Aechmea Maginali after his wife.
